PADI Search and Recovery Diver
Small, large, or just awkward, there is a way to find things and bring them to the surface.
The PADI Search and Recovery Specialty course will teach you safe and effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface. And it’s fun to use the lift bag!
Not only is this course fun, but it’s very practical and ultimately useful because eventually, you’ll lose something in the water. As a Search and Recovery Specialty Diver, you’ll know how to search for and recover it.
You will learn:
- Search and recovery dive planning, organisation, procedures, and techniques
- How to locate large and small objects using search patterns
- How to use a lift bag and other recovery methods
- Limited visibility search techniques
A lot of people who enjoy the more technically-minded specialties can keep adding to their roster of amazing skills, you can keep adding specialties to your belt until you attain your Master Scuba Diving rating! Feel free to contact us for more details on becoming a PADI MSD.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The typical PADI Search & Recovery Speciality course schedule is completed in 2 days. Each morning will start with a knowledge development and skills practice session which will prepare you for the afternoon’s diving.
The course includes 4 dives but if you have completed a Search & Recovery dive during your PADI Advanced Open Water course then this can be credited towards your Speciality.
The course includes all the elements required for completion: your own copy of the PADI Search & Recovery Specialty manual, internationally recognised PADI Search & Recovery Specialty certification card, full equipment hire and boat fees, high quality instruction from experienced and qualified instructors, tea, coffee, water and light refreshments on the boat, tea, coffee, water, Wifi and internet station use in the dive centre.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
PAYMENT – Deposit is non-refundable. Balance to be paid in full upon arrival.
PREREQUISITES – To take this course, you must be at least 12 years old and be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver with PADI Underwater Navigator (or qualifying certification from another training organisation).
MEDICAL – There are certain medical conditions like asthma and heart conditions which may prevent you from diving. Please read the medical statement and let us know if any of the conditions listed on the form apply to you or any of your group prior to making a booking.
FLYING AFTER DIVING – Please note when booking your holiday and transport that you should have at least 24 hours in between your last dive and flying.
BEFORE BOOKING – Our team work hard to provide a safe, fun, efficient and well organized dive centre. We work hard to ensure your dive experience is a positive one. With this in mind, before booking, please read through the policies we have developed to help us ensure your time with us goes as smoothly as possible. Please note that the dive centre is closed 1st January, 14th April & 25th December. If any of these dates fall into your intended travel dates, please contact us first before booking.
