Our adventures

Green Rock and White Rock on the 6th April’12

With perfect weather and some great diving conditions, everyone was eager to get going for a nice days diving. The dive sites would be Green Rock and White Rock, 2 of my favorite dive sites on Koh Tao.

For the first dive I would be following Konstantine and Anna out on a fun dive with their divemaster. We arrived at Green Rock, got into our gear and jumped in, descending slowly down the buoy line and onto the dive site.

The visibility was nice down to about 16m so we stayed just above the murky thermocline for the majority of the dive. The dive site seemed to be heaving with life with dozens of species of fish from the huge Triggerfish to the beautiful school of Juvenile Barracuda on top of the pinnacle.

There were also Nudibranchs everywhere, even a few species I have never seen before on the island and only a cm or so long. The dive lasted over an hour before a few other boats arrived and it started to get a little busy but by this time we were already on our safety stop surrounded by bubbles coming from the divers below.

Once back on board, we swapped our tanks away and got some tea and fruit while we enjoyed a nice long surface interval before we made our second dive of the day at White Rock. For this dive I would be following Dave, Nick and Verena on a fun dive after completing their Scuba Reviews earlier in the day.

White Rock was just as beautiful with lovely visibility and plenty of critters to see. Along the way we came across different species of flatworm, a banded boxer shrimp with only one pincher and blue spotted ray or 2. After a lovely dive we surfaced, climbed back on board and made our way back to the shop were we could wash our equipment, fill in log books and look through all of the photos from the day.
