PADI Underwater Naturalist

Want to get to the bottom of some of the bizarre behaviour you see from the reef inhabitants?

On this course you’ll not only learn why they practice some seemingly bizarre antics but you learn who gets on with each other, who hangs out together, who hunts together, who guards and who cleans. Everyone has a role and some of the most surprisingly different species will tolerate each other just to get the job done! Understand this and you will realise why the reef system is so fragile!

You will learn:

  • The major aquatic life groupings, interactions and factual information that dispels negative myths
  • The role of aquatic plants, food chains and predator prey relationships
  • Responsible interactions with aquatic life
  • The underwater naturalist’s view of organisms and their roles in the environment

You put all this information into practice during your 2 dives on the course and then you will continue to build your knowledge and understanding on future dives after this amazing course.

The typical course is taken over one day. We split you day between building your knowledge and observing the marine life behaviour whilst diving. This is an amazing way to make your dives more enjoyable, by being able to study and understand habits and patterns with marine life will give you a greater appreciation and understanding of how the underwater all works together to create pristine and amazing environments.

The course includes all the elements required for completion: internationally recognized PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty Diver certification, full equipment hire and boat fees, high quality instruction from experienced and qualified instructors, tea, coffee, water and light refreshments on the boat, tea, coffee, water, Wifi and internet station use in the dive centre.
