Medical
We must warn you that certain medical conditions may prevent you from diving, such as asthma and heart conditions. The RSTC produce a standard diving medical form which you can see here. If you have any of the conditions listed on this form, please print it and have your physician or family doctor complete it for you. If you have none of the listed conditions then you do not need to see a doctor and you can complete the form here upon arrival. Please note that not all conditions listed on this medical from can be assessed by the doctors on this island. Failure to read and action this form may result in you not being able to dive. If you are unable to get to your own doctor to sign you off as fit for diving but have one of the conditions listed then please mail us so that we can advise you on what your options are.
Swim
In order to dive safely and be comfortable around deep water you must be able to swim. Please note that in order to be able to complete the open water course, participants need to complete a 200m swim or 300m snorkel. There is no time limit in which to complete this. Participants also need to be able to float for 10 minutes too.
Certification
Each diver, unless taking a Discover Scuba Dive or open water course, must show proof of certification in order to dive. If you have lost or misplaced yours please get in touch to see if we can help.
Depths
Divers may not dive beyond their training limits.
Payments
Deposits
The only way to secure and guarantee diving and accommodation is to send us a deposit. This can be done via our online payment system; ThaiEpay and by visiting this page and clicking the book link next to the activity you are planning to do. ThaiEpay accept online payments from VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Japan Credit Bureau and China Unionpay.
Your deposit is non-refundable but should you have to cancel we will hold it over for future visits.
If you need to make any changes or cancel accommodation bookings this must be done 7 days in advance so as not to incur any charges.
Full Payment
Open Water Courses should be paid in full prior to entering the water. In the case of non completion of this course a referral form will be issued. Refunds will be issued based on what has been completed over what time period.
All other courses and diving activities have to be paid in full prior to water activities commencing. If you are fun diving on a daily basis then this can be done day by day.
Cancellation of fun dives will be accepted without charge before 16.00hrs on the day before departure. After this time a 50% cancellation fee will be paid. Should you just wish to make one dive on a two dive trip then this is a fixed price of 1,200 THB, please note that at busy times this simply may not be possible..
Price
We reserve the right to change our prices. However once you book with a deposit your price is fixed to the date you booked.
Payment Facilities
Please note that credit card facilities on the island can be intermittent. When they do work, they attract a 3% charge. Please be aware that it is possible that you will need to pay your balance in cash (Thai Baht). There are plenty of ATMs and you can also exchange money on Koh Tao at one of the many banks.
Weather and Unforseen Events
Courses
When the wind blows we can usually find somewhere to hide. In the unlikely event that we can’t complete your course due to inclement weather we will reschedule. If you are unable to extend or change your schedule and must leave, then we will ensure that your training records/referral forms are properly completed and refund any monies due. A referral form is valid for up to 12 months and can be used to continue your course at any dive centre offering the same course anywhere in the world.
Fun Diving
We do keep an eye on the weather forecast. Usually we are able to advise you prior to signing up for a trip in the dive centre if the trips dive sites are weather dependant. Where the weather catches us by surprise we make every effort to inform you of the change prior to getting on board. In this instance, should you change your mind prior to getting on board, then cancellation penalties will not be owed. Once onboard, the captains decision is final, and we therefore do reserve the right to change dive sites due to weather conditions and safety issues once the trip has begun.
Insurance
We recommend that you have, and carry with you a comprehensive insurance policy that covers diving. If you do not have a specific diving policy or if your holiday insurance does not cover diving then we can offer you cover.
